Mława House received an honorable mention in the Brick Award 2023 competition!

Mława House has received an honorable mention in the Wienerberger Brick Award 2023 competition in the category “Feeling at home”!
“Feeling at home” is a category that focuses on single-family housing, terraced housing, and small-scale residential architecture that provides comfortable, healthy, and sustainable conditions for residents.
In this category jury awarded six projects. Congratulation to all winners!

According to the Jury:
“The jury appreciated the consistent architecture of the house, based on a modular rhythm, careful framing of views, and gradations of intimacy. The building is oriented inwards and consists of a sequence of interiors, semi-open terraces, and courtyards, making it reminiscent of Mediterranean houses. The minimalist atmosphere of the interiors and terraces is created by the conscious use of raw materials – ceramic and concrete.”

The building of the office is isolated from the industrial character of the surroundings by a green area with a lot of birches. The building seems small and light due to the second storey being set back but the glazing and views of the garden make it more spacious from the inside. On the ground floor, there are management offices, meeting rooms and breakout spaces. The remaining office rooms are on the first floor. The façade consists of seamless brick, storey-high glazing and regular aluminium blades. The offices and social areas on the ground floor are separated from the glass façade by fully glazed rooms that form a kind of a rest area. They look like aquariums, are filled with plants and can also be used as „winter gardens”. By introducing double glazing, thermal comfort in the building was improved. In the interior, the hollow block, joined seamlessly, is exposed to make rooms appear warmer. The creators distributed all installations in the technical floors. The spaciousness and the height of the interiors are further emphasised by wall-height glass doors.

Our project of Sports Hall won the 3rd prize in the competition organized by the Cracow Branch of the Association of Architects SARP!

The award has been given for the proposition of the building properly connected to the existing school, both in the underground floors and the ground level.

Jury’s justification:

“Both buildings, separated by a public area, create an interesting spatial composition along Traugutta Street. The solution of the entrance hall in the designed sport hall is interesting and offers a guest-friendly space”.
